I had the chance recently, to have a chat with Jordan, and when asked about her passion for the YA genre and what drew her to blogging, this is what she had to say...
"I became a reviewer because I love books and wanted to share that love with others. I want to be able to connect people with books that can make them feel and fall in love with reading. Whether it's an indie book or traditionally published, I'm always happy to share and eager to review just about anything YA or NA. I love YA because there's so much you can do with it. As a young adult you're liminal; between the worlds of an adult and a child.
There's so much to learn and experience. I guess what I love is the growth and the process of learning who you are. In a lot of adult books I've read, there's a lot of overcoming, overcoming a struggle, rebuilding a life, finding love again...I want to see mistakes and disastrous decisions, I want to see blossoming love and self discovery. There's something really cool about YA and it's ability to tackle multiple genres and be completely original. I find I'm happily surprised and delighted with where YA is going and how much it's evoLved. There's no subject off limits and that's incredibly freeing for both the writer and the reader." -Jordan @ YA Book Madness Blog
